About
A starter, a name, and a mountain kitchen.
Sourdough in the Rockies is the online home of Live with Joy. The bakery is new. The habit of baking is not.

Why two names
Live with Joy is the name on the starter jar, and the name of the bakery. Sourdough in the Rockies is the place: high, dry air, cool nights, and dough that is happy to take its time along the Colorado Front Range.
We are starting online on purpose. Friends already know the loaves. This site is the front door anyone can find — the menu, a subscription, a way to sign in, and a way to say hello — while flour, bake days, and payments are still being finished.
The photographs are stand-ins. When our own crumb is ready, those files get replaced. The logo stays the one already on the jar.
What we care about
- Time over speed
- Flavor comes from a long ferment, not from a shortcut. If the dough needs another hour, it gets another hour.
- Small on purpose
- Batches stay small enough that one person can mix, shape, and bake them with care.
- Straightforward ingredients
- Flour, water, salt, and a starter. Honey, oats, seeds, herbs, or cocoa only when they belong in that loaf.
- An honest counter
- The order, subscription, and account pages show the shop we are building. They do not pretend a payment went through.
